LFW began as Lakmé India Fashion Week (LIFW) in 1999 as a partnership between Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI) and IMG. Lakmé was the main sponsor for the show that was held in Delhi up to 2005. After Lakmé’s contract with FDCI could not be renewed, there was a split, and LFW moved to Mumbai in 2006.The Lakme Fashion Week 2019 was a huge success with adorable collections and and hot celebrities ravaging the ramp.
Arjun Kapoor For Kunal Rawal
Kunal Rawal’s collection “Confluence” left everyone spellbound. Arjun Kapoor walked the ramp for his designer friend.“I think today men are a lot more sure about what they want. They are either understated or bold, but they are not unsure about what they want,” says the designer. Jahaan Kapoor also debuted the ramp for him.
Malaika Arora Khan For Diya Rajvir
Setting the ramp on fire, Malaika walked breath-takingly in a rose-printed maroon gown for Diya Rajvir. Her dazzling outfit featured a plunging neckline and flaunted her toned midriff. The outfit featured ruffled butterfly sleeves and a high slit in the front. She sported a wet-hair look with statement earrings.
Genelia D’Souza For Saroj Jalan
Genelia D’Souza graced the ramp as the showstopper for designer Saroj Jalan. She simply owned the ramp as she looked stunning in the red boho lehenga choli. Statement silver jewellery and embellished shoes added a chic element to the whole ensemble.
Ananya Pandey For Anushree Reddy
Ananya Pandey turns into beautiful bride as she makes her debut at the Lakme Fashion Week.She donned a nice flamingo pink embellished floral pink choli with a plunging neckline.
Ayushmann Khurrana and Disha Patani For Rohit Gandhi and Rahul Khanna
Disha Patani looked stunning in a gunmetal long-sleeved, plunged ‘V’ neck, high slit slinky gown. Ayushmann Khurrana looked dapper in a black double-breasted, one-button, knee-length coat with embroidered sleeve and shoulder interest, teamed with a buttoned-down collar shirt and slim pants.
Kareena Kapoor Khan For Gauri & Nainika
Wrapped in an all-black off-shoulder ensemble with layers of silk and net, the actor walked the ramp for closing designers Gauri & Nainika. Sharp detailing, dramatic yet fluid silhouettes, vintage botanical illustrations and intricate hand embroideries in strikingly bold colours defined Gauri and Nainika’s show-stopping Finale collection.
